LEATHERS Miss Rita Robinson, who was one of the Heppner Rodeo princesses this year, also joined the Heppner party that took part in the Pendle ton Round-Up parade on Friday. Miss Robinson visited in Portland the fore part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Farrens re ceived word that a baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Owen at the St. Anthony hospital the 8th. She was named Karen Joyce and weighed 9 pounds. Mrs. Owen is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mjrs. Farrens. Mrs. Kenneth Bleakman and daughter Neta and Mrs. Jerry Had dox (nee Neva Bleakman), all of Heppner. visited at J. J. McDonald home the first of the week. Carl McDaniel of Lonerock and father, Ed McDaniel, were transact ing business in Heppner Monday. John Bellenbrock from Monument was in town Monday on his way to Heppner. He came over with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Batty who live near Kim berley now. Miss Ruth Eversole was in Hepp ner Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Delvin McDaniel went to Pendleton on Friday for the Round-Up and also to visit Mrs. McDaniel's father, O. S. Sparks. A brother visited from California here this week, also. Other people going to the Round-Up were Echo Neill, Irvin Greener, Pete Hams. Mrs. Maud Robison came out from Heppner this week and is staying with her grand daughter, Maxene McDaniel, who it attending high scnooi. Knighten home. Everyone is invited. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Lovgren and family visited in town and at the Al Lovgren home in the mountains on Sunday. Donald Robinson has been hauling grain this week for feed. He re ports his father and mother should be home the first of this week from Elko, Nevada, where they have spent the week at the fair. Beverly Burnside entered school this week. She is a first grader and staying with Mrs. Harlan Ad ams. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Burnside work at Hermiston. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McDaniel spent a day or two in town this week from Rhea creek at the Oren Wright ranch where they work. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond McDonald and daughter Patsy came home over the week end to see their son Monte who is in school here. They re turned Sunday to Zornes camp. Del bert Robinson also was home from the same camp. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Knighten and children went to Portland on bus iness this week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones were Heppner callers Monday. The freshman initiation was all day Thursday and finished with a big party in the evening at which the sophomores and their able advis or, Joe Enzler, were in charge. Mr. and Mrs. Peyralans of Port land were visiting their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Enz ler, this week end, also taking in the Pendleton Round-Up on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Churchill I and Mr. and Mrs. Munkers of Kel logg, Idaho, spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harwood and Mr. and Mrs. John Jenkins. Mrs. Munkers and Mrs. Jenkins are sisters. Lila Myers; vice president. Fay Finch; secretary and treasurer, Elva Winters. Mr. and Mrs. John Healy and son Billy were callers in Baker on business. Neilson lives only a few miles from Hard man he has not been to town for more than a year. Mrs. Richard Rogers will be hon ning. Mrs. Claud Myers spent a few days in Pendleton last week visiting her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Herman, also consult ing a doctor while there. Brewster and Mrs. Margaret McGreer and daugh ter Shirley of Spokane were callers on the creek Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Barnes of Pilot Rock were callers Monday and Tu esday at the E. B. Wattenburger home. Mr. Barnes is the govern ment trapper working with Harold Dobyns.
